Welcome to my first blog!
I’m Ana Roca, an enthusiastic bilingual elementary educator on a mission to spark a love for learning in every student I meet. I’m so excited to get to use this happy little corner to share my journey as a teacher.
I earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Science focusing on Education Studies from the University of Oregon in 2011. This ignited my passion for teaching, leading me to Loyola Marymount University, where I completed a Master’s Degree in Urban Education with a specialization in Language and Culture in 2022.
My classroom is where the magic happens. From 2016 to 2022, I was shaping young minds as an Elementary School Teacher at Saint Bruno Catholic School, infusing learning with excitement and curiosity. A brief stint at KIPP: Adelante Preparatory Academy further affirmed my belief in the transformative power of language.
Education is my heartbeat beyond the classroom. From helping underserved communities as a Jesuit Volunteer Corps Teaching Assistant to empowering fellow educators with The New Teacher Project, my journey is about making a lasting impact.
Even outside academics, I’ve shared my mentoring spirit as an Assistant Rugby Coach at Eugene Area High School and in various Teaching Assistant roles. I believe in nurturing well-rounded individuals.
As I continue my quest, I carry a torch of passion and dedication, ready to light up the education path for a brighter future. Join me, and let’s make a difference together.
Ms. Ana Roca
